If you’re thinking about buying yourself a telescopic loft ladder, which is similar to a concertina loft ladder, then rest assured that you are onto a good thing. This type of ladder is one of the best available for accessing the loft, and if you buy a good model then you won’t have any regrets.

But if you’re still not convinced that this is the right ladder for you, here are a number of the most important benefits that you can expect to enjoy once you’ve made your purchase.

Easy installation – if you’re not one for messing around with confusing instructions and you don’t want to spend a whole day installing your loft ladder than a telescopic ladder won’t give you any problems. These are easy to install and you’ll have it up and ready in no time at all.

Suitable for any height – whatever the height of your loft, telescopic loft ladders are normally able to do the job. Unless you have a ridiculously high loft then you’re almost certain to find one that can get you up and down to your loft with ease.

Small and compact – when your ladder is tucked up inside the loft it won’t take up hardly any space compared to many other types of loft ladder such as wooden loft ladders, and it doesn’t require much space to operate either. That’s great if you’ve got a smaller loft or if you only have a narrow loft access.

Durable – despite their compact size, telescopic loft ladders are tough, especially if you get one made from aluminum alloy. You don’t want to take any risks when it comes to climbing up and down ladders, so it’s good to know you’re in safe hands.

Easy to transport – if you need to move your ladder or take it to your new home then you won’t have to worry about it getting in the way because it folds up into a compact size to carry anywhere.

Modern look – telescopic loft ladders look modern and stylish as well as being very useful. Loft ladders and hatches don’t have to be something to hide away, so get a telescopic model and you’ll be adding to the look of the house when you install one.

Quick access – being super easy to use, you won’t find yourself fiddling around with lots of confusing mechanisms as you can set it up to use within seconds.

How much should you pay for one?

If you don’t have a huge budget then buying a telescopic loft ladder won’t set you back too much. Of course, some models are better than others, so it really depends on how much you’re willing to pay. Generally you get what you pay for, so it’s best to go with something at the top end of what you can afford and it will be an investment worth making.

My Werner Televater Universal compact access ladder: model AA10 (mk1) broke within one year. Not happy about that at all. I have a $5 yard sale ladder I can bring in to get to my attic, but I spent 6+ hrs with my wife and $300 to install this piece of junk that broke in the first 50 uses.
